¶ Cooking
Galactic cuisine on AOTR is prepared with a full stove setup: a cooking pot on the burners for simmering and frying, or a baking tray in the oven for roasts and pastries. Stay within each dish’s time window while it is on heat, then take it out in time. Too little or too much time yields mush instead of the real meal.
Only the Cook job can buy stoves, fuel, and ingredients from the job purchase menu, unless your server opens that up to other roles. Each grocery item adds a set portion into the pot or tray—count your portions so they match a known recipe, or the meal will not come out right.
¶ Equipment
- Stove: up to four burners plus an oven. Everything needs propane; when the tank runs dry, burners and oven shut down.
- Propane canister: refills the stove by 50 fuel per tank. Burners sip fuel while they are on; the oven uses extra fuel while it preheats and while it bakes. Propane can explode if things go wrong—give tanks and stoves space.
- Cooking pot: holds up to seven different ingredients at once. Sits on a turned-on burner for stovetop recipes.
- Baking tray: load ingredients, preheat the oven first (about one minute), then bake for the times listed below.
- Dropped ingredients: if you place ingredients in the world from your gear, you can only have so many out at once—24 ingredient pickups per person on servers that use that rule.
