To begin mining, proper equipment must be obtained. All mining equipment can be purchased from CT 11-4293 Horace located in the Quarry. The only necessary item is the Pickaxe, but it is recommended to purchase a sack or footlocker for additional inventory organization capability.
Different types of ores have different uses associated with them. Some ores are useful for weapon manufacturing, while others are useful for ammunition or armor fabrication. In order to properly use ores, the first step is to smelt them into their refined versions at a Refinery. These refined materials can then be combined into alloys, or used in their base form for the various types of crafting.
If crafting isn't something you're interested in, all ores can be sold outright at any Mining Guild Terminal. It is important to note that ores can only be sold in their unrefined form, and will lose all value to the Mining Guild once they have been refined. It is also important to keep in mind that Mining Guild payouts fluctuate based on how much supply and demand they are experiencing. If a large amount of stone has been sold to the Guild, the sell price will begin drop and stone will become less profitable. Sell a wide variety of ore types in order to get the best profit margins.
