¶ Joining The Server
You can use play.santos.gg to connect to our server.
Alternatively, you can search "SantosRP" in the FiveM browser.
¶ Creating A Character
The first thing you want to do after joining the server for the first time is create your character. You'll do this through by pressing M and going to the Player Related Options menu. Within this menu, you'll find MP Ped Customization. Open up that menu. Choose between creating a Male or Female character.
Your character will look like this or similar. Do not worry, we'll get that bald head and lack of eyebrows sorted out quickly. Before you begin, give some forethought into your character's roleplay story such as how or why they became an Officer, how long they have lived in Los Santos, their age, name, etc.
Remember that this is a serious roleplay server.
Proceed into the Character Inheritance menu and choose your parents. Your parents will decide your face structure, hair color, and skin. You can always change your hair color later of course.
Once your parents are selected, use BACKSPACE to go back a menu, and enter the Character Appearance menu.
Once inside the appearance menu, you can then begin choosing your hairstyle and hair color.
Please note that while the LSPD is pretty relax, you will not make it very far into the rank structure or into other higher tier departments if you have lime green hair so choose wisely. This also goes for beards and eyebrows. Keep your character serious!
Proceed throughout the appearance menu and choose your desired look. Once finished, press BACKSPACE once more. You can enter the Character Face Shape Options or Character Tattoo Options menus if you wish to fine tune your characters appearance to give them more unique features, but that is optional.
Once ready, enter the Character Clothes menu to give them some clothes to start out with. You'll choose your uniform through a separate menu to begin with, so you don't need to put much thought into this. Simply match the following options:
- Masks: #0
- Upper Body: #0
- Lower Body: #1
- Shoes: #1
- Scarfs: #0
- Shirt: #0
- Body Armor: #0
- Badges: #0
- Shirt/Jackets: #1
Make sure to save your character and give it a quick name to remember it by.
Now your character is complete and you are ready to take on the world! 🎉
¶ Going On-Duty
To go on duty and start/continue your career as a Law Enforcement Officer, press F11 and press ENTER when highlighting the On Duty option. When the box is checked, you are officially on duty.
Additionally, you'll want to receive or replenish your health & armor, as well as receive your standard loadout. To do so, highlight the Get Loadout option and receive your Department Basic loadout. Yes, you'll eventually get better loadouts as you progress.
Once you are on-duty, go ahead and press T to open up the chatbox and type /eup.
Select either the Class B - Long Sleeve or the Class C - Short Sleeve options.
Not being in correct uniform is a big offense, and will always result in punishment. Make sure you abide by your department's uniform codes at all times.
¶ Setting Up
As a new officer, you will be greeted at the Davis Police Department. Proceed to the parking lot through one of the exit doors.
Once in the parking lot, press F11 to open up your Duty Menu once more. When in the menu, go ahead and spawn your 2011 Crown Victoria. Just as the same with loadouts, you'll eventually get better vehicles as you progress. But for now, get used to the good ol' crown vic.
Once you are in your vehicle, go ahead and press B to open up your CAD/MDT. You will be greeted with a screen that looks like this:
¶ Getting the hang of your CAD/MDT.
Below you will find a general outline of what each tab of the CAD/MDT is used for.
¶ Check ID
Generally self explanatory, however you'll use this to search up names in the database. When you collect licenses from pedestrians, they'll have a First and Last name. Simply input these into the correct fields and you'll be able to see information on the pedestrian, such as active or invalid licenses, if they have any warrants or a criminal history, etc.
¶ Check License
You use this to check the license plate of vehicles. This will show you if the vehicle has valid or invalid/expired registration or insurance, or if the vehicle is stolen.
¶ Reports
When you respond to a 911 Dispatch call, a report will be given to you to fill out. It is important that you fill these out so you can earn points towards promotions. Fill these reports out to the best of your ability, preferably with great detail. Those who put effort into their reports are greatly rewarded.
WARNING: There is a Delete All button that if used, may delete your reports from your record. It is best to avoid using this button at all times, as once your reports are deleted from your record there is no recovering them.
Any points you have earned will still stay, but there will be nothing to show for them.
¶ Callouts
This tab is generally used to see what 911 dispatch calls you may have recently missed out on. At this time, there is no way to respond to a call you missed.
¶ Backup
While backup is generally called for via the radio, you may sometimes see this pop up on screen:
When a player uses the built in backup feature, you will then see it in your Backup menu in the CAD/MDT. Accepting the backup request will give you a GPS marker to the Officer's location.
¶ Services
The services tab is how you can call for general services such as tow trucks or ambulances.
¶ Ambulance & Fire Department
Ambulance and fire department After arriving on the scene they’ll try to revive all dead peds in a 50m radius. The Ambulance service has a higher chance of revival.
¶ Air Ambulance
Air ambulance Works similar to the above, but with an even higher chance of revival.
You generally use the Air ambulance for areas that are unreachable for an ambulance, such as a mountain or rooftop.
¶ Coroner & Animal Control
Coroner and animal control After arriving on the scene, they’ll remove all dead predestrians or animals in a 50m radius.
¶ Tow Truck
If you request a towing service while on foot, it’ll tow away the closest vehicle to you.
If you request a towing service while in your vehicle through the Services tab, it’ll tow away the vehicle in front of your vehicle.
¶ Mechanic
Mechanics works generally the same as a tow truck. After arriving on the scene, it’ll fix the targeted vehicle.
¶ Prison Transport
If you call a prison transport while on foot, it’ll go to the closest arrested ped
If you call a prison transport while in your vehicle through the Services tab, it’ll go to up to two arrested peds that are inside your vehicle.
¶ Citations
The citations tab is for you to view all of your citations that you have given.
¶ Settings and Department
The settings tab allows you to change your display name. This should only ever be changed to match whatever name you use on Discord/community/in-character.
The department tab allows you to view who else is in your department. If you ever leave the LSPD to join another department, you'll do it through here. Do not leave LSPD unauthorized, as you will lose progress.
¶ Going Out On Patrol
Before leaving the station everyday, every officer must be on radio. Press F6 to open up your radio. Once your radio is open, follow these steps:
- Click on the top right knob to turn on the radio.
- Enter
10into the center box, then click change to connect to frequency 10. - Ensure the Channel is set to
LS Dispatch.
You can then use LALT to speak on radio.
